To address your point, Rutherford had some good teams, but was unable to recruit players to Mizou consistantly. Look at her last eight seasons. Also, she had the same rep as Norm had, do well in the Big 8 (12) then fold come tournament time. The point is in the past 33 years Mizzou has not consistantly attracted top-flight talent to Columbia and a new coach who is on the upswing can see that. Getting the talent needed to compete at the top is more than a coach now, it takes NIL money and a lot of it. I think if Mizzou does go the new coach route the fans will continue to attack without immediate positive results.
