entire career by having successful RD 1 franchise QB's. (1) a surefire HOF'er who single-handidly won Reid's only ring. (1), McNabb, who's the 4th QB in NFL history to have more than 30,000 passing yards, 200 touchdown passes, 3,000 rushing yards, and 20 rushing touchdowns in his career. Also QB'd Reid to (5) NFC championship games, only winning one. McNabb's injury in 2005 caused Reid to lose 8 out of his last 10.
With Vick, they qualified for the playoffs once, then spiraled downhill the next 2 years leaving Reid jobless, as instability at QB proved costly.
Then he gets very fortunate to land in KC with an experienced, solid, franchise QB in Alex Smith, who then passed along the reins to the guy who will likely retire as the best statistical QB in NFL history. And outside of a few games without Mahomes, he's had a good to great QB under center his entire time in KC.
So in reality, the seasons he had bad records were seasons in which McNabb was hurt and post-McNabb they weren't very good at the QB position.
