universities, and of far more significant states.

• Big 12: Kansas, West Virginia (= 2 podunk states)

• Pac 12: Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Utah, Colorado (= 6 quality states)

Also, there's no question that Utah is the leading university of its state, the flagship, and the most attractive option from an athletic conference's perspective.
