That’s kind of the opposite of the goal. Of course that team had buy games on its schedule.

I would rather Mizzou build a hoops program that’s a legitimate threat to not just make the tournament, but to win games in it most years.

Mizzou isn’t there and hasn’t been there since Norm. You could maybe say Quin’s teams. They were always slow starters but were good by the end of the season, until he crashed at the end.
