from the portal, Davis, Coleman, and Gordon (which I happen to think are all really good additions) cited Martin's reputation as a person AND as a coach as major reasons they came here. Perception is reality. He enjoys an excellent reputation as a person from his players and colleagues.
And who the hell are you to question whether he is a good guy? Have you any proof he isn't, after he has havi been in the profession for twenty years? No one has to prove his innocence or that he is a a person of character. Perhaps you don't like that he has taken his team of African Americans to museums (when the country was reeling with racial issues) to learn of their heritage.
He has never given any player guarantees, handouts or whatever, he has always stressed hard work, preparing them for life after basketball. Focus on the success stories for a change, the growth in character of those like Jeramiah Tilmon, East St. Louis isnot easy to overcome.
