quite some time. UPS, Fed Ex, Amazon and other home delivery shot up dramatically. Schools closed. Sports events shut down. No groups of 10 or more people. Millions unemployed or working from home. Parks closed. Police pulling people over for not having a valid excuse for driving their own car... and being fined $237 for not having a "valid" one. A guy on his paddle board in the ocean, not near anyone else arrested in California... a mother arrested in a park with her children, not near anyone else... police knocking on a mother's door accosting her for allowing her child to go to a next door neighbor's home, filling out a report and warning her there could be consequences...

Those seem to be more than quasi enforcement.

It seems like all of that should have had an effect unless this is far more contagious than they were saying, or their predictions about what effect this would have was just a failed experiment... as the author said.
