that is 'begotten" and equal to the One and Only God predates Islam by hundreds of years. In fact the issue or question was a driving force behind what became the Council of Nicea. Many of "Christian' faith at that time were opposed to the idea, but out of that gathering does come the Nicene Creed affirming a vow that Jesus is one with God BEGOTTEN, not made. It remains a pretty wack idea, but Islam did not have much or anything to do with it.
