and he never really got anything going. With Carpenter, and even Wong to a certain extent, you had other reasons to keep them on the field. Carpenter was hitting into some hard luck. Wong was still playing exceptional defense. Fowler was doing none of that and it didn't appear that he was pressing. His effort level looked low. I think he's a good 4th outfielder, but Bader's emergence has limited their ability to give him time to work through things.
