When people overdose and fill an emergency room and a doctor has to attend to them, what problem do you think that could create? a doctor only has so many hands and time and attention to go around. When a doctor has to attend to a suicide attempt or an overdose, you don't think that there's not hostility? I would take a pretty high bet, you never worked intensive care or an emergency room.
How healthy do most drug addicts look to you? Do people on methadone look healthy?
May not be aware of this, but fewer people want to become physicians because of the malpractice insurance, the capriciousness of suits, the overbearing insurance panels and state committees, and just general hours you have to work, being on call, etc. etc. who do you think sees these people. You don't so you assume they're not a burden. You're reasonable enough to reconsider this when you're sane
