I think this has been common knowledge by now. The drug cartels, and druglords, we're hooked into government officials. These were high ranking government officials. The money is just too good. For example in his heyday, Escobar will give your choice he could give you money or he could kill you and your family for most people, it was a no-brainer.

You know what will win the drug war, my friend? It's when people don't have the need to self medicate and distract themselves with substances. They will fill that hole with Jesus I think you understand this because you're a reasonable person.
