explosion in this country began with the introduction of diet soft drinks. It's a complete non-factor that aspartame is known, for a fact, to inhibit metabolism. It's irrelevant that there have been studies where heavy diet drinkers were switched to 1 regular per day and lost weight at effectively 100%.
