He's shown enough to extend. He was going to make $8.15 in his current contract anyway, so he doesn't get a significant pay increase and they lock him in until 2030 (or the illusion of locking him in). What continues to get me about these universities is that they continue to write hugh buyout for themselves if they fire the coach, but don't protect themselves if the coach does well and someone hires them away? It's the same w/ Drink. If someone hires Drink away it's only $5M (going down $1m every year of his contract). If we fire Drink we still owe him 75% of his contract. No wonder these athletic departments don't make money.
