thing that could be changed is the portal. In the NFL you can't just leave and transfer to another team mid-season if things aren't going your way.

I think fixing the portal is the key. That would at least give a conference like the Big 12 a chance. Otherwise - the SEC and Big 10 will just continue to poach the best players from the Big 12 and ACC because they simply are going to have way more money. It will eventually be a 2 conference league.

Or you mandate each conference get 1 team in, and you get the crap we got this year.
