Lynn Dickey. He's from Osawatomie, KS, which is just SW of the KC Metro.

I know that Dan Devine did a home visit, and, according to my father, the staff was optimistic that they could sign him. He ultimately went to KSU and set a variety of passing records at Kansas State before finding stardom in the NFL, mostly with the Packers.

As for the other players you mentioned, I can't offer any insight.
