scholarship. Ten years before Downing, it was Roger Wehrli from King City, MO. Roger was headed to Maryville and Northwest Missouri State when Clay witnessed Roger's dominant performance at the Missouri State High School Class A indoor track championship in Brewer Field House. He figured that a guy with that much pure athletic ability was worth taking a chance on. The rest is history, including Roger's admission to the NFL Hall of Fame.
