The handouts didn't help if that is what you mean but the two issues acted together to create the period of inflation that we saw over the last few years. And Trump was guilty as well but it wasn't the largest issue.

For instance, car rental companies sold off their inventories to stay afloat during covid when people were not travelling which resulted in a paucity of vehicles to rent when the economy started opening back up and a significant jump in prices. Supply and demand but driven more by a supply crisis than real demand.

With gasoline, the oil companies quit drilling during covid and drilling companies shuttered rigs and lost their employees. When demand started to rise, it took a couple of years for the industry to get back on track. Supply chain issues were the initial and primary drivers for inflation.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
