As a Tiger, Vanover has only been effective in the low post. He is largely immobile and lacks the offensive skills of a mediocre perimeter player. He has not shot 33% from the outside for the Tigers. He is weak and appears somewhat fragile and he is not a young player. If Gates approves of Vanover's playing style, the Tigers have a coaching problem.
