I am not sure this is a problem with Gates, other than the players he recruited. He did the best he could in the portal, but it hasn't worked out.

Think about it - several of these players are cast offs from other programs. Guys we never heard of until they were recruited to Mizzou. On paper they have talent, but we see how this is working out in reality.

This year is just gonna suck. Gates is gonna have to prove he can bring in better players through recruiting. If he can't, then it will be time to pile on the guy.

Last year things were better than expected, by far. This year it is much worse than expected. Let's see how he adjusts to this and what next year looks like.

I like Gates and everything he has done up to now. Too early to bail on him. Even Anderson and Haith got a lot more time than this.
