solar produces power.

But if the power companies can't reduce their generation by that same amount of power without the grid going into a blackout it isn't really useful.

I have solar panels I play with just for fun that power a cabin I have totally off grid. But I don't pretend I am saving the world.

And 30% of utility costs are just maintaining the grid. Who pays for that? All should unless you are totally off-grid

Just research how long it takes to turn off a nuclear plant. Or a coal plant. Even gas plants take several minutes

So we have an overabundance sometimes during the day of extra power. great
