Maintenance costs alone on wind are 1.5X the current cost of power and that doesn't include storage and grid support when they aren't turning

Every solar farm has to have a gas plant built to support the grid when clouds go by as they are the fastest to turn on.
That is NOT included in any cost estimates for solar.
Solar is worthless at night and there is zero storage technology that will help and at best we are 20 years away from a working solution (ie not batteries). A truckload of batteries will power a town of 200 homes for 4 hours and you need new batteries every 5-6 years

Rooftop solar is the same except even harder to support the grid. It is really wasted energy. Yes the owners will reduce their bill by a little. Yes the other utility customers will pick up the bill for the generation that still has to be produced.
