to form a viable "NIL collective" that allows Drink to recruit SEC-caliber players, or even retain the ones he currently has.
It's an ugly, broken system... but it's a reality... and MU has been inexplicably behind the curve and slow to adapt.
I *wish* I had the time to form a collective. If I did, it would be my top priority as a diehard fan.
What's baffling to me is how our wealthiest boosters, presumably many of whom are retired and have ample free time on their hands, aren't taking any initiative on this.
Or our AD for that matter. The latest update to Missouri's NIL statute allows the AD to get directly involved with NIL related initiatives... pretty much anything short of directly paying players (and btw, California has legislation in the pipeline to *force* its major schools to directly pay its FB & BB players 50% of revenue amounting to 6-figure compensation).
Drink is a helluva recruiter, but he can only do so much as the "NIL" bidding wars continue to escalate. Nick Saban couldn't recruit in this environment, at MU.
Someone needs to step the fvck up and do something about that... NOW.
