can’t lose to Army with or without Badie and expect fans to be pumped come the following August. Lousy bowls do matter when trying to rebuild attendance and overall hype. They’re a stepping stone to bigger things for the program. Pinkel got it. Think about how folks here still talk about that 2005 (?) comeback against South Carolina in whatever bowl that was. If that game happened today people would say it’s not worth playing because Spurrier was over the hill at the time. But that game mattered long-term.
