states. It is not the same as voting for members of Congress. My suggestion was very specific, in limiting the amendment to address voting for President, and only the President.

While federal might be the wrong word, it is the only office for which citizens of all states are choosing from the same list of candidates, and it is a national office; unique as compared to all other offices in the United States.
