Let’s start with Alabama. They have multiple analytics guys on staff. If you have listened to Oats talk you have heard how his analytics guys got him to change defensive concepts. Alabama went from 114 in defensive efficiency to 3rd. Also the NCAA passed a rule allowing analytics to provide real time support on the bench beginning this season.
Baylor and Illinois both hired a DBO from Gonzaga that helped implement significant changes in playing styles.
Several schools don’t have the assistants lead the scout. This gives them more time to recruit and coach.
All you have to do is look at schools that are consistent top 20-25 teams. That’s what Mizzou wants to get to. There are a number of other ways the support staff has helped teams.
