had a resume that wouldn't even be considered for P6 until his team got hot in the NCAA's (dunk city in this scenario), much less what's considered a blue blood type athletic department. That was a risky hire by USC but it seems to be paying off. If there was a tourney last year they would have been a lock, so that would make 4 of the last 6 seasons and now they are really stockpiling some talent out there. The point? This coach hiring stuff really is a crap shoot. Also, it shows being patient with a coach can be a good thing. He was looking a bit KA like early on but look at them now.
His resume before taking the USC job:
