We disagree about what science is

To me, science is that group of scientific facts that cannot be unproven. For example, if I mix sodium hydroxide and hydrochlorc acid, I will get heat, chlorine gas, and salt water. That is a proven scientific fact.

I respect the scientific process of making hypotheses and trying to prove or disprove them. But until proven or disproven, they are just a guess. And no scientist should be out there spouting off their guesses until they are scientific facts. And framing it by saying "models show this" doesn't make it any better. At that point, you are just trying to convince me your guess is right, and by definition you've already lost your argument that what you are saying is a scientific fact. You shouldn't have to convince me that a scientific fact is true if it, indeed, is a scientific fact. And if you are later proven wrong with additional data, then you were wrong before by saying what you said was a scientific fact when it clearly was not.
