You're urging people not to make assumptions, yet that's exactly what you're doing in defense of the shooters. And yes, they have the right to the presumption of innocence right now. So did the man they killed. They'll get a trial. He will not.
From what I've read, they had been pursuing him in their trucks. Shooting someone with a shotgun from a moving vehicle probably isn't all that easy to do.
Once they stopped in the middle of the road, got out, and had guns at the ready, I think it's quite reasonable to assume they're willing to pull the trigger. And to that point, there isn't a shred of evidence that the jogger had done anything at all to indicate he was a threat to them.
I don't know if they set out to kill him, but they were quite clearly willing to do that and created a situation that directly led to his death.
