Funny tough, if you did down deep enough into what Jesus actually DID, it was to teach the poor, the indigent and the outcast, lepers and whores who didn't really have a lot to do with the intensely religious pharisees. They were not quite as intense as the Essenes who sought utter purity. Again, Jesus spent essentially his entire life and his brief ministry with the rural poor and destitute who themselves would have very little to do in general with the pharisees, more urban and centered in Jerusalem.
