And no I’m not trolling. There are people missing up to 90% of their brains and still function normally. We do not understand brain or consciousness very well, even in our scientific community. We are now realizing no antidepressants actually work any better than a placebo. Think about that for a second, because that is about 40 years of neuro-science ‘consensus’ flushed right down the toilet.
CTE is a theory that puts significance on the discoloration of the brain examined after death. It could be real based on that theory, or it could be wrong. How do we find out? By testing the theory with real data.
How do football players (active and retired) Compare to the general American population in the following:
- suicide rate
- mental illness
- drug abuse
- domestic violence
- crime
Do football players actually have a higher rate of these than the avg population? If yes, you have an issue. If not, then it sounds like a theory more interested in changing culture than medical reality.
The numbers Ive seen show football players on avg score better in all these categories than the avg American.
