time period.
All we did was essentially stay afloat. our facilities, our budget, our stadium improvements... everything was still in the bottom half of the Big 12 because everyone greatly improved.
In fact... the Longhorns and Sooners spent more and more and more than they ever had and all the blue bloods got even further away from Mizzou.
Their was no advantage for Pinkel. In fact... facilities and investment wise, we were in worse shape competitively.
You must have forgotten that during Larry Smith's time, Oklahoma was a dog and Texas wasn't the dominating force yet.
By the time Pinkel got to Mizzou... Oklahoma was the new National Champion, Nebraska was considered the best program in the country, Texas was back, Kansas State was a power and Colorado was at the top of their game.. not to mention Texas A&M was still powerful.
When Pinkel got to Mizzou... we were getting blown out by Iowa State and Kansas.
Because of Pinkel... we became better than every program other than Oklahoma and Texas, who spent a zillion more dollars than us.
We leapfrogged Nebraska badly. We started murdering Kansas State. We obliterated Colorado's program. Kansas got sent to the outhouse, becoming the national laughing stock and still is.
We beat Oklahoma when they were #1. We beat Texas in 2011.
Then we went to the SEC and continued the dominance in 2013-14 winning titles against programs like Florida, Tennessee and Georgia.
It was Pinkel. It was only because of Pinkel. And Alden hired him, so he gets credit too.
Investments?
Ha.
That turned out to be a joke.
Coaches get you investments.
And because of Pinkel... we make more money today and can invest more in football than we ever have, or ever would have been able to.
