If it was so one-sided, then you'd figure the players would figure out that it's a ****ty deal for them, and they'd decided to do something different - basketball related or not.

Instead you have them bragging about receiving scholarship offers on their social media accounts.

You have them - most of them - returning to play college basketball after having done it for a year. Again, if it were such a ****ty deal for them, they'd bail after they got a taste of that **** in their freshman year. Most players play multiple years of college basketball. If they feel like they're made to be slaves...then why come back for another season?
