an important concept to understand at all in this instance. We are talking about his potential effectiveness as a college player. Mitchell Smith isn't going to play in the NBA.
He can run the court for a big guy and can finish at the rim. Not really sure if he can finish though contact or really in traffic. But he doesn't have trouble elevating or getting his footwork down or controlling a pass while running at high speeds. He can and will dunk when given the opportunity. He seems reasonably confident in facing up in a midrange game, although not really sure if he can execute effectively there or not. Defensively he is an adequate weak side shot blocker, but it also causes him to get out of position a decent amount. I don't recall him ever attempting to score with his back to the basket. Good build and athleticism, lots of length and mobility for a guy his size. That is pretty much what I took out of his 83 limited minutes.
