Jaylen Brown, who played for Martin at Cal, doesn't have one, I don't think.
What an agent can do, though, is ensure that offer is the best possible. For example, the salary schedule for first rounders isn't set in stone. Each picks can sign for a certain percent less than/greater than the money for that slot. I don't think there's any kind of salary schedule set in stone for second rounders, either. And if you get one second round guarantee, an agent will be better equipped to use that guarantee to get a player picked even higher for a better deal.
No one really NEEDS an agent. But most players have one because a good agent ensures you're not leaving better options on the table. It also ensures you don't have to spend time worrying about that and can just focus on yourself. Imagine being 18 years old and preparing for the draft and then you have to figure out the legalese on an NBA contract a team assures you is totally legit.
