in 1994, we took out all the starters and played walkons. It gave us a considerably lower chance at winning. But it also allowed Norm to send a message, then re-insert the starters and get the proper results he wanted.
That was in an NCAA tourney game. There certainly were ample opportunities to do that on a smaller scale with a player or two if that was the desire all of last season.
Brown and Clarkson were not below avg defenders. They would both easily be this team's best perimeter defenders. That is simply a scapegoating notion that is perpetuated here because they were high level offensive players. But yes I would say we saw enough of a body of work to say that Haith was not a good defensive coach.
