their bench. For example Namon Wright played most of last season with a very low commitment and effort on the defensive end....yet led our team in minutes played. If you don't have the skill set to personally appeal to a player's motivating factors or the established infrastructure that facilitates players in your program having an expectation of the proper necessary motivation levels, as a baseline every coach always has a bench at their disposal.
To try and throw one's hands up and say I have an across the board unmotivatable bunch that I have no control over getting a proper level of commitment and effort from is simply making excuses. Of course a coach has an inordinate amount of control, and certainly responsibility, in that. Its a huge portion of their job.
