If you're a player that cares more about getting high than getting boards, it probably wasn't going to affect you either way. If you're a player that cares what happens to you in the game, and to your teammates when you experience those things, it can mean a lot.

For one thing, it can teach you not to carry one bad game into the next and make it a streak. Pain, even emotional pain, can be a great motivator. If you care.
