Softball also has no equivalent pro sport in the state. It’s a unique offering.
College Soccer has never gotten ratings even for championship events. It’s a loser in terms of advancing the Mizzou brand. In KC, you have the KC Current which is way more interesting for KC. Don’t see it ever becoming a big deal. StL and KC aren’t getting interested in it in COMO.
VB and WBB get TV ratings plus you already have the facilities. Gymnastics and Wrestling have the facilities that can be shared with these other sports. Championship events get good TV ratings. If Mizzou can’t push to be good at these court/floor sports, where they can share space, not sure what MU can aspire to in the non-revenue AD.
Hockey is a club sport.
Baseball can help with the Mizzou brand if it was good but the investment dwarfs everything in the AD after football and MBB. Not worth it to me because the cost is astronomical and the competition just has way more advantages.
