We have zero advantage in baseball other than decent talent in STL and KC.
Recruits would rather play in the South in the winter and Spring. If we were in the B1G then we should have focused on it. For now defund baseball.
Softball for can be done indoors if it has to, so the cooler weather location doesn't hold much water. Plus there is even more softball talent within 150 miles of Columbia than for baseball. And we have decent facilities. We need to pay big $$ for pitchers and the rest will work itself out
I'd argue beyond football and men's basketball the funding order should be:
1. Softball
2. Women's soccer - huge talent pool
3. Wrestling
4. Gymnastics
5. Volleyball
6. men's hockey
7. men's baseball
8. the rest including women's basketball as you ain't competing in the SEC. We have great talent nearby for Track and Field but nobody watches it so it ain't worth big funding
