far broader sense than just, the earth has been hotter lately than it was a several decades earlier.

Namely, by Global Warming Hoax, they mean the assertions that the earth is warmer lately AND that it is anthropogenic... caused by human actions, AND that the world should immediately spend trillions of dollars and radically change lifestyles to avert catastrophic conditions on planet earth in the very near future.
