Funds from other donors that might have gone towards facilities can go towards NIL if they already have enough for facility maintenance & upgrades that make sense.

Improving the football stadium especially, can help attendance and game atmosphere. A louder stadium filled with more fans appeals to athletes as well. It should also help with revenue which can help keep things rolling.

All of that helps the university with enrollment as well, keeping the AD in their good graces. It all helps create a synergy.
