1. The improvement needed to just “make the tournament” is not a significant amount. I believe 2 years ago we were the first team out. Last year we were further away from getting an at large bid, but we started 14-2 and were still in the conversation in late February before we lost our last 3 games. So the improvement we need to make to get one of the last few at large bids is fairly minimal. Remember the last 5-6 teams to get at large bills (and the first 5-6 to not get bids) are typically mediocre, flawed teams and making or not making the NCAA comes down to a virtual coin flip.

2. It was widely reported last year, right after it was announced Pingeton was coming back for another year, that DRF established clear expectations for Pingeton for the 2023-24 season. But those expectations (requirements) were not published anywhere in any detail. Widespread media speculation (unanimous I believe) was that making the NCAA field was one of those expectations. Any reasonable person who believes DRF would set minimal expectations and *not* include making the field as one of those expectations (if not the only expectation that really counts) doesn’t know what they are talking about.
