We have 12 full scholarships. We may divide some up two help more players come here, but most transfers want a full ride. We have eight pitchers on our roster right now (one is redshirting). As for a catcher in the portal, the logical choice would have been our hitting coaches daughter. Not sure the reasons, but one may have been we have two bonafide catchers coming next season. To bring in a catcher to start over the ones we already have on the team and knowing we have two coming next year would not have made sense for roster space. The team is also high on Crenshaw manning the catcher's position. Deters, as you may recall, was the heir to Moore, but left before the end of last season and decided not to return to the team.
