MU would have better attendance if COMO was almost 300,000 population like Lincoln and an hour’s drive from Omaha or StL in Mizzou’s case. Frankly, you better win big and often to get people to devote weekends to Mizzou football. Because most fans are looking at 4 to 6 hr round trips and often 2 night minimum hotel stays and food and gas costs. It can be worth it but not when you get ***** slapped by the program in various ways (bad schedules, protests, nondescript results). MU sports is hard sell unless it becomes a thing like it did with Norm’s hoops and Gary’s football. Coach Gates and Drink on the clock to see if they can build it into a happening.
