Relatively stagnant population and economic growth. Horrible leadership that is failing to bring new employers to the state, especially those that have more than just low paying, unskilled jobs. Too many Missourians simply can’t afford stuff, except a TV and a sofa. But that malaise filters down to Mizzou sports, which have been mostly terrible recently. Ever since Odom, football has been mediocre. The kids in the Liberty Bowl to a pedestrian OSU team killed momentum. That 14-15 loss to Kentucky at home sapped momentum, too. Mizzou just needs to start the season strong for once.
