say it makes for a better game. The reasoning is that if you don't have a DH the decisions around when you take out a pitcher is different if he is also batting. So to some, the DH makes it more generic and takes away some strategy decisions. A team isn't going to continue to do it if they don't have to (other than the Angels when Ohtani is pitching) just for the sake of having to be more strategic.
you can debate whether or not the added decisions regarding managerial strategy makes for a better game or not but if you ask why teams wouldn't continue to do it, then I don't believe you understand the reasons why having pitchers bat makes for a better game.
