Many college football programs require fans purchasing season tickets to pay a premium or make a substantial donation in order to get or keep good seats.
I understand Mizzou has such a program, but the amounts required are relatively small when compared to other programs. I.e. look at Georgia, Alabama and Florida.
On a personal note, I have a friend who buys season tickets on the 35 yard line for his kids and grandkids. The required donation is twice the cost of the ticket.
Understand that media rights are divided into first, second and third tier. Also that the third tier rights are not yet included in the Conference TV packages.
Clemson is a smaller school than Mizzou. South Carolina has a smaller population. I understand that it has a very aggressive "small donor" program that raises substantial funds. (Clemson Football budget is about 160 percent of Mizzou's). Check it out and consider adopting its program for Mizzou.
If you want to be really aggressive, get the state legislature to adopt a statute allowing the football program/staff to sell NIL deals to firms with the money going to the program.
Finally, I don't know if its still the case, but for many years all revenue from the sale of merchandise, etc. went to the University rather than the Athletic Department.
