have to count that year as a tourney bid since Howland finished top 4 in the SEC and would have received a bid.

His teams have been competitive. The only losing season was his first, when he inherited a rebuild-from-scratch situation. He didn't have a bunch of elite players, recruits, and transfers fall into his lap like Cuonzo did.
