Ask someone on the East or West coast what they think about "Kansas" as a state, and you'll realize how different their perception is than yours. It's viewed as a tiny little farm state in the middle of nowhere, with hicks on tractors playing the banjo. Trust me, I lived on the East coast for nearly a decade so I would know.
As for Arkansas and Ole Miss — they would probably be in the same situation as KU right now, if they hadn't gotten their "seats" in earlier, less selective rounds.
There's 0 chance that KU gets a P4 invite. Even if Notre Dame called up the B1G tonight, KU wouldn't get in as "baggage" at this point. The B1G would add ND, and remain at 15 members until UVA or some other blue chip from the ACC calls.
