involve lesser payouts to lesser schools.
If the SEC wants to stand pat at 16 schools, the payout will likely go to $60m and that's great.
But currently the B1G has better payouts and that's partially because not all schools get to participate in the top tier.
Whether it's merging with the ACC or consolidating the remainder of the Big 12, the only way to 24 or 32 teams with no payout concessions would be through adding more teams in the top 25.
Do you think Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State & Michigan State will come right over?
How about Washington, Oregon, USC & UCLA?
Notre Dame? Think they're interested?
The only remaining 'true fit' both geographically and culturally is the LB8 or the ACC and the ACC has some issues doesn't it: namely Duke & Georgia Tech.
Whatever solution Sankey has in mind for a super conference it has to involve some solution for teams 25-65 in the revenue list - and lesser payouts is the most likely solution...
