TX & OK have Big 12 Conference games already scheduled.
That's eight games each, 16 games total, per year.
If the SEC wants TX & OU playing an SEC conference schedule in those years, why not substitute the remainder of the SEC's 14 teams in those games.
Let the current SEC cherry pick which of those games they want to play, essentially substituting themselves for TX or OU.
Quantify the value of that versus the lump sum penalties that would be owed for an early exit.
The LB8 get four years of exciting, relevant games against the best teams in the country.
The SEC gets immediate participation of TX & OU in the league.
And the lump sum penalties disappear.
Downsides?
